Premium Health is looking for outstanding candidates for our Clinical Director, Child-Adolescent Behavioral Health position.

Under the leadership of Behavioral Health Chair, Glenn Hirsch, MD. the Child-Adolescent Behavioral Health program at Premium Health provides the highest quality culturally sensitive mental health care to underserved communities. Providers in the program comprise a superb team of highly-trained mental health professionals that work as a multidisciplinary team providing evidence-based treatments tailored to the individual needs of the child, adolescent, or family. Our program is designed to take the best of what an academic center offers, providing space and time for ongoing collaboration and learning in an academic-like setting and encouraging sufficient time for individuals with their clinician at each visit.  

The Clinical Director will work with and direct a team of experienced Mental Health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, and others including trainees. A successful candidate will be responsible for further developing and guiding the service into new areas of delivery of care; enhancing quality; providing outreach to the community and evaluating and treating patients. The Clinical Director time will be split approximately 70% clinical care and 30% administrative work. The Clinical Director’s responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Providing clinical leadership and oversight: Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Child-Adolescent Behavioral Health department including program development, refinement, growth, and sustainability. Ensure that the department/program is providing high-quality patient care, that staff are following evidence-based practices, are compliant with all relevant regulatory agencies, and that the department or program is meeting its goals.
  • Supervising and training clinical staff: Supervise and train clinical staff by providing feedback on work, conducting/developing training sessions, and ensuring that staff are up to date on the latest clinical practices.
  • Monitoring of productivity: Along with administrative staff, responsible for assignment of patients, monitoring productivity and timeliness of clinical documentation.  
  • Recruitment: Along with Behavioral Health leadership, recruit clinicians, including the development of job descriptions, review of applications, coordination of interviews and support in onboarding.  
  • Outreach: With other members of the behavioral health team, provide outreach to agencies and the general community including regular talks and seminars.

Patient Care:

  • Providing direct patient care: Provide direct patient care by conducting assessments, providing therapy, and monitoring patient progress.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans: Develop and implement treatment plans for patients by working with patients to assess their needs, develop a personalized treatment plan, and monitor the patient's progress

Requirements:
  • A Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology or a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • A license to practice in New York State as a Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor
  • 7+ years of experience in clinical practice
  • Strong background in integrating evidence-based practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of health care professionals and with parents/family members
  • Compassionate and willing to go above and beyond to provide treatments that meet individual’s and families’ unique needs
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong teamwork ethic and positive, flexible attitude
